According to New York Daily News , employees were handed their pink slips that day. Factoring in that this is happening just-before the middle of April and roughly a week-and-a-half before Record Store Day, even the timing of this sudden closing is puzzling. For one thing, the four-building Park Row set-up could be pointed to from pretty much anywhere in New York as a monument that people do still exchange currency for something physical that will play music for them.

Please help contribute to a new Forgotten NY website. Just told my sister today about needing to go there…only to google it, and find this article and these comments! Times are definitely changing….. Not a spectacular structure, but at least the kept the facade in line with the gorgeous circa Park Row Building next door. They also used similar colors and lined up the storefronts to somewhat match its neighbor. The staff were always friendly and helpful, I miss the place.
